Self Weight and Dead Loads
The self weight is calculated based a load equal to the area of the cross section times its unit weight. The weight of rebar and tendon are ignored. The concentrated and distributed load are translated to finite element loads and placed on the elements.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Deflection | The deflection due to self weight is calculated directly from the analysis. |
Forces | The dead load forces are calculated at each POI directly from the FE analysis. The composite forces include the force in the entire section, i.e., concrete, PT, and rebar (if transformed). The forces and stresses are also calculated at each POI location for the concrete portion only. |
Stresses | Stresses are calculated based on the forces at the section (concrete only) and the area and moment of inertia at the section for both top and bottom locations. |
